Stila - Champagne Glow

Stila
Eye Shadow Trio - Champagne Glow

In honor of golden goddesses everywhere, we bring you a new shade to the resort collection. The shades are fresh and bright and boast a high pearl content for gorgeous sheer shimmer. The trio features soft pink, cool taupe and rich brown shades. size: 0.17 oz

My reviews:
I bought this from Lush Rouge & Co. An online site that brings in cosmetics that are hardly found in Singapore. They have quite a number of brands like Laura Mercier, Duwop, and many others.. I picked this Stila eyeshadow trio in Champagne Glow.. What caught my eyes was the packaging of this eyeshadow.. wrapped in Gold casing, the shadows has this bump like when u buy any mineralised products.. but this is not a mineralised eyes-shadows.

I put it on the next day working out my smokey look.. I applied "cool taupe" on my eyelid and work out my black eyeshadows from Make Up Store (this part u can pick any black or greyish black but not those glitter black shadows for the crease..else u'll get glitters all over your eye area..) The colour are not highly pigmented but its enough to create a smooth and blend look.. I'd say its prefect for daily wear or to the office-look. Of course u can still wear this for a night out, using more bolder colours to blend in to the crease area..

Rate: 4/5
If u are the kind that always rush off w/o having to make up at home, then this is definitely a good buy.. I carried it along wherever and whenever I travel.. Its a MUST have in my handbag apart from my lipgloss. :)

Make Up Forever HD primer

Blend

Make up Forever HD Microperfecting Primer

A lightweight, oil-free complexion corrector that enhances the skin's texture and primes the skin for makeup application. It a primer that deeply nourishes, moisturizes and create this glowing effects. It does what other primers in the market does, creating a protective layer on the skin to allow foundation to glide on easily and at the same time give a long lasting to the foundation application. I have been using primers since I met and fall in love with one.. ( but I am not gonna name the brand I am currently using..just as yet.. as I am reviewing on this Make Up Forever primers first..)

This brand comes with 6 color correcting shades and one transparent shade. I love the one in Yellow.. which is "Blend"..

Transparent - Nuetral (Adds natural luminosity to the complexion)

 Green - Minimise redness

Mauve  - Counteracts sallow undertones

Caramel - combats asshiness in medium to dark skin tones

Blue - adds radiance to fair skin / reduce minor imperfections

Yellow - lightens dark complexion

Pink - brightens the complexion / counteracts sallow undertones

I picked Yellow (Blend) to lighten those unwanted pimple scars on my face.. yes..I do get pimples once in a while.I am only HUMAN..

When I first came across this brand, and while the MUA was explaining to me the benefits of this products, my eyes just couldnt help it with so many colours.. worst when I saw one of the primer in blue.. and I was like...."Yucks..who would want to apply a blue primers on their face?" Then I learnt they are just like any other primers..
Sold in Sephora Singapore. Not quite sure how much exactly it cost but I remember it being like $60 over.

Rate: 2.5/5
Reason being that its too pricey for a primer..quality wise is so-so.. cause its in a form of liquid. Packaging wise does not tempt me on buying this product.. Its tall and could not fit my travel make up bag. Oh on top of that, I could not find their MUA at their counter every time I made a trip down to Sephora.. I always ended up talking to one of the staffs in Sephora which later on they will recommend me other better brands.. like Smashbox, for example!

Dangerous Palette -> Urban Decay

Urban Decay latest palette - The Dangerous Palette~!
Yes it is now sold in Sephora, Singapore. Gorgeous case with great colours.

I gotta admit that the colours they have in this palette is exceptionally Gorgeous. Not for someone who loves sweet and dainty colours. Great colours for the day and night. I would use "Oilslick" for the crease and the rest of the colours are great for the lid. Remember to use the primer first!! :) Seriously I love "Rockstar" and "Mildew"

I would love to have this in my collection but unfortunately I didnt, mainly cause I have other Urban Decay palettes that has these colours in them.. so if I add this to my collection, I would have like 5 or 6 duplicate colours. Quite a waste for me but its great for beginners or for those who have yet to own any Urban Decay eye-shadows.. Seriously these stuff works wonders..Highly pigmented and long wearing when worn together with Urban Decay eye-potion (primer)

Rate: 4/5
Price: 3.5/5
(yes, its pretty pricey when it came to Singapore but u may want to put it as your Xmas wish list..whoops that would be like 7-8 months time before u call it, "its mine!")

Wish for Nars.. . .

Nars
I just wish that Sephora in Singapore would consider bringing in this brand from NARS.. I know there is a lot of u out there who has been waiting for this brand to come to Singapore.Unfortunately u cant find NARS on the shelves of Sephora. I know of some online seller who is doing sprees for NARS.. and its not cheap. So many actually sought consultation through Sephora in Facebook to plead for these brand.

What I dont understand is why Sephora would not want to bring NARS in when there is so many people out there enquiring for this brand??

Can someone enlighten me about it?

Laura Mercier

Laura Mercier
http://www.lauramercier.com/store/home.jsp

I came across this brand while shopping in Parksons, Pavilion @ Bukit Bintang, KL. I was screaming with joy when I saw the brand name near to the entrance. I have always heard this name whenever I watched Kandee Johnson doing her v-log about her makeup. Kandee loves this brands a lot.. and I thought, "If this brand has been "endorsed" by a Hollywood make up artist, I am pretty sure these stuffs works.." So giving myself a chance, I bought several items off the shelves from Laura Mercier. Bought the tinted moisturizer, foundation primer, lip colour, lip gloss and loose powder. Dont ask me how much I paid for, cause these are items are not widely sold in Singapore.. (I am still wondering about that!)

I found one place in Ngee Ann City that sells Laura Mercier, but..trust me dont waste your time there cause they dont really bring it a lot of Laura Mercier stuffs. I cant recall the name of the shop that sells it.. but its locates at Basement One near the escalator near Zara. Thats the only store in Singapore that u can find Laura Mercier.. then again, dont need to waste your time there.. Firstly, not many stocks .. its very very very limited!! Second, the price just does not justify the stocks in that store. They priced it so much that it makes you feel not worth making a trip down there and worst, buying it..

My verdict on Laura Mercier :

Laura Mercier foundation primer + tinted moisturizer is by far the best BUY.. not in terms of $$$ but quality, the primer helps hold the foundation longer and at the same time, gives u that natural and flawless look.. Good for all skin types.. I have combination skin (more to dry skin) and this primer + tinted moisturuzers really gives me that flawless look throughout the whole day.. hardly any touch ups!! Isnt that great?

Their lip gloss and lipstick is next. The lip colour is very moisturising.. say Bye to chapped lips!! I also bought their lip plumper in Berry Bronze.. I am someone who doesnt really like lip gloss or lip shine.. until I met this gorgeous lip plumper in Berry Bronze..

Laura Mercier also has a panel of their own make up artist.. which u can go to their website (I have placed a link) and look through their MUA.. very professional MUA!! I like Michel Coulombe & Tayaba Jafri..

All in all, Laura Mercier is 4 out of 5 stars in my beauty closet. A definite buy for me (when I am in KL)

Sephora

Sephora is a leading beauty retailer offering the best cosmetics, skin care, make up, fragrance & perfume, hair, beauty products and make up tips.

Sephora is a chain of cosmetics stores founded in France in 1993 and acquired by Paris-based conglomerate LVMH (Louis Vuitton and Moet Hennessy) in 1997. The Sephora chain includes more than 750 stores in 17 countries. Carrying over 250 brands, including Sephora's own private label, the store offers cosmetic and beauty items that include makeup, skin care, fragrance, bath and body, hair product, and hair and make-up tools

Sephora opened its door in Singapore few years back and I could still remember the day I walked in to Sephora Ngee Ann City.. I was amazed at all the products they bring in to Singapore.. the first one I lay my eyes on was Urban Decay & Smashbox!!

Now Sephora has branch out to several outlets, mainly Sephora Ion Orchard, Sephora Ngee Ann City, & Sephora Marina Bay Sands.. They also have another one in Great World but seriously I dont really like going to the one located at Great World City.

Firstly the store is not as huge as the rest of the outlet which means, their product range is lesser.. and u could find some things are not available as compared to other outlets due to space constraint.

Secondly, the staffs there are not as helpful as the rest of the outlets.. I frequent Sephora like twice a week and I cant help noticing and recognised those helpful and service-oriented staffs and those that are not. With many online sprees and other major departmental stores selling cosmetics with beauty advisor, it helps if the management of Sephora highlight the importance of service to its staffs especially for the ones located at Great World.. The nicest and the most pleasant experience I had in Sephora was the one located in Marina Bay Sands.. they were helpful and more informative on the products, despite having to know all the products, they are able to explain briefly on each product.

All in all, putting aside the lack of service cultured in Sephora Great World, I love Sephora for the products they brought in.. They are quality products which u paid a price for..
